As promised, I sequenced tonight’s drums myself. I finally figured out how people use the synthesizers as drum machines in reason, and although it’ll take some getting used to, the results were immediately interesting. Beyond the drums, this track sounds much simpler than usual; ironically, it uses more instruments, effects, and automation than I have to date. However, I spent a lot of energy on throwing out drum tracks, so when it came time to write melodies, I ended up writing something simple and then duplicating it to try to keep it sonically interesting. I can only hope I achieved the desired effect.
