I had two goals in mind with tonight’s minute of music:
- Something ambient
- Something that sounded like “I was a lover” by TV on the Radio
If you don’t know it, “I was a lover” is a glorious mess of weird timing and dissonance. For reference, here it is:
I ended up with something ambient, but definitely nothing as interesting as the opening to “I was a lover.” It’s more just a mushy dissonant heap of sounds. I likely layered on too many patterns, and I really could have done with some well-timed silence. However! I did figure out that I can embed songs in my posts via lala, which means that when I am after a certain vibe or sound, I can put up an example. So, while a creative defeat, I can claim a technical victory.
