Matt Bowen's minutes of music, photography, et cetera
It’s been a good weekend for photos; I broke my camera out yesterday and shot some macros, then went on a photo safari this morning. All in all quite productive.
It’s been a good day to have my camera out; this guy was an early Christmas gift.

It’s a lovely snow day. Tomorrow should yield even more photography.

This is the first track I’ve done in Ableton Live that I’m feel comfortable with, and I still feel like I have a ways to go. But, I think it has a more interesting melody than usual, and I’m strongly considering a go at an arrangement with vocals… but, we’ll see what this weekend yields.
After meaning to for a month, I finally did shots of my bass’s tuning pegs. The set of the shots is available on flickr.

This is sort-of a tutorial, sort-of a demo, and all pretty awesome. It gives a good feeling for new modes of performance and composition that are becoming available.

It’s rough again, but that’s what happens when you first switch digital audio workstations. Some of the bass is synth, some is real, and all this stuff will return in later songs, I suspect.
